Transition Care
Ensuring a bright start at ICS Côte d'Azur Bilingual School
Starting a new school, whether in your current country or in a new country, can be an exciting yet challenging experience for children and their families. At ICS Côte d’Azur, we understand the importance of transition care in supporting a smooth and confident start, helping students feel secure, engaged, and ready to thrive.
We are committed to creating a supportive environment where every member of our school community feels valued and at home, taking pride in playing an active, positive role in helping families settle in and flourish.
By fostering strong connections between families, teachers, and peers, our transition care ensures children settle happily into school life, laying the foundation for long-term academic success and well-being in the vibrant Côte d’Azur community.
Our Admissions team at ICS Côte d’Azur is highly experienced in supporting international families and families on the move, ensuring every step of the transition to a new school and country is smooth and stress-free. During the application process, we can assist with:
- A personalised, guided admissions process tailored to your child’s needs and your family’s timeline.
- Recommended real estate agents to help you find the perfect home in the Côte d’Azur.
- Contact with paperwork specialists and relocation agents, making administrative processes easier for families relocating internationally.
- Introductions to ambassador families, connecting you with parents who have successfully navigated the transition.
- Taster days for students who have been accepted at the school, allowing children to experience school life firsthand before joining full-time.
- For those starting in September, we offer an orientation morning before the official start of school where students and families can see the classrooms and meet their teachers.

Ready for the First Day of School
At ICS Côte d’Azur, we understand that the first days in a new school can be both exciting and overwhelming. To support a smooth start, we offer:
- A flexible timetable for our youngest students – During the first few weeks, children can ease into school life at a pace that suits them, giving them time to adjust to new routines, surroundings, and friendships.
- Teacher check-ins – Our teachers contact parents via email or in person at the end of the first week and the first month to share insights on how the transition is going, ensuring every child is settling in happily.
- Support from our Student Safeguarding and Wellbeing Leader – Morgane Scherlen is available to any student with concerns, providing a kind and welcoming space to discuss fears, worries, or challenges in a safe environment.

We recognise that starting school in a new country is a transition for the whole family, not just the student.
At ICS Côte d’Azur, we support parents from day one through our Parent Association, introduced during Orientation Day, where families receive information on how to join and get involved.
Our wonderful Parent Association keeps families connected through a monthly newsletter, organises community events such as Winter Wonderland and International Day, and collaborates with parents who run local businesses to sponsor and support school events, helping enrich school life for all students and families.
Additionally, as a school we invite parents into school to see their child's learning during our Celebration of Learning assemblies, we share opportunities for parent volunteers on school trips, and we facilitate class WhatsApp groups to make it easy for parents to exchange information, ask questions, and build connections within our school community.
