Student Wellbeing at ICS

Student Wellbeing at ICS
Jennifer Wallace

At our school, we believe that academic success can only be achieved when every pupil feels heard, valued, and supported.

At ICS we call this our Culture of Care, and 98% of our parents strongly agree is the hallmark of our school.* Our wellbeing policy is built on a holistic approach that embraces the emotional, social, physical, and mental dimensions of a child’s development.

To support this commitment, we have put several key initiatives in place:

  • Educational programmes that foster empathy, cooperation, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.

  • Dedicated spaces and moments for dialogue, giving pupils the opportunity to express themselves freely and receive support when needed.

  • A teaching team trained in active listening, identifying signs of distress, and providing caring and compassionate guidance.

  • Initiatives focused on physical activity, life balance, and raising awareness around healthy habits.

We also place great importance on creating a positive school climate. Promoting respect, tolerance, diversity, and positive relationships is central to our approach. This work is carried out in close partnership with families to ensure consistent support aligned with each child’s needs.

Morgane Scherlen, our Head of Safeguarding and Child Protection shares:

"Here at ICS, we know the challenges young children face growing in a world created by and for adults. At ICS, we are honoured to build a secure environment focused on the child, and their physiological, physical, and emotional needs.

The influential role of adults in the evolution and lives of young children is a subject the school takes very seriously. In my view, it is our duty to provide our students with the best conditions, and the most innovative programs and methods that resonate with the latest discoveries in neuroscience to enable them to learn and grow in complete serenity."

Our goal is simple: to offer every pupil a calm, stimulating, and deeply human learning environment in which they can grow, learn, and truly flourish.
