Why We Celebrate Book Week at ICS

Why We Celebrate Book Week at ICS
Jennifer Wallace

Wow, what an amazing book week we had at ICS!

Ms Giuliana, our literacy coordinator, librarian and PY4 English teacher, organised some amazing activities and gathered brilliant resources so that the whole school could celebrate book week together.

The aim of Book Week is to celebrate the joy of reading, inspire a love for books, and encourage literacy in both English and French through engaging activities. Activities across the school included a library scavenger hunt, book reviews in English and French, creating and colouring bookmarks, reading in unexpected places, older students reading to younger students, and of course, our dress-up day on Friday!

Ms Gina, our Head of School shares "In a bilingual program like ours, reading is especially powerful—it opens doors to deeper understanding, cultural awareness, and stronger language skills in both languages."

And congratulations to our book week winners! They each got to choose a brand new book to take home or share with their class.
