We are delighted to start this new series of articles to present our Community. Our first interview will be dedicated to Iris Gourven who is a key member of the ICS Côte d'Azur team.
Please could you introduce yourself.
My name is Iris and I am the admissions and parent relationship manager at ICS Côte d'Azur.
Austrian by birth and trilingual, I have travelled all over the world and am married to a Frenchman, well 'Breton'... and the South of France seemed like a great opportunity, between sea and mountains and our two hometowns.
In my previous experiences I worked in the luxury hotel industry, yachting and here I am since 8 years in this beautiful school ICS Côte d'Azur which also welcomed my two children Kilian and Milla.
I am a passionate skier and an eternal beginner in tennis but sport allows me to find my balance.
What do you like best about working at the school?
There are two things I love about my job - making people happy and the mix of cultures.
Having a blend of cultures in my home, I love to find this mix in my work!
Finally, as a parent relations officer, I like to be of service to parents in order to assist them and beyond that sometimes even reassure them because they can't always be present with their children.
Do you have an anecdote to share with us?
There are so many anecdotes to choose from. There was the Easter celebration where I dressed up as a bunny and bounced around the school handing out chocolate... or the many other fancy dress events like the Quiz Night...
But what always warms my heart is when I see former students coming back to see us. Just recently I heard a knock on my window and when I looked up, I saw three well-known faces from the school... three alumni who came to tell us how much they loved the school and how great and unique the experience was.
A word for the community?
I'm glad to hear that we're going to have some festivities for the end of the year!
