FRISL Football Tournament: A day of grit, growth and goals!
Jennifer Wallace
Our young athletes recently represented the school at the FRISL Football Tournament, competing against four international schools: BSM, ISM, Mougins, and ISN. It was a day defined by an incredible atmosphere of teamwork, fair play, and a true spirit of celebration.

Team Highlights
-
PY6 Boys: A Podium Finish! Our PY6 boys were dominant in the morning, winning every single match with clinical precision. After a heartbreaking loss in the semi-finals on penalties, the boys showed incredible mental resilience to win their third-place playoff! We are so proud of their 3rd place overall finish and their "never give up" attitude.
-
PY5 Boys: The Learning Curve For many of our PY5 boys, this was their first-ever FRISL tournament. While they finished at the bottom of the rankings, their effort was nothing short of brave. As Ms. Nicky says, "There is no losing, only learning." We saw fantastic glimpses of play and, more importantly, strong mindsets that will serve as a great foundation for future tournaments.
-
Mixed Girls (PY4–PY6): Debut Success! Our girls' team—a mix of ages and mostly tournament newcomers—put on a stellar performance. With a balanced record of wins, draws, and losses, they secured 3rd place overall in their league. Their progress throughout the day was inspiring to watch!
The Takeaway
Beyond the scores, the day was a beautiful display of both celebration and commiseration. Our students supported one another through every high and low, proving that the true win was the experience gained on the pitch.
Congratulations to all our players!
Ms Nicky shares the following: "What an unforgettable day! Between cheering for our first-time PY5s and the nail-biting PY6 penalties, I’ve come away with a bruised finger, a lost voice, and a heart full of pride. Even when I wasn't at a specific pitch, I was there in spirit—constantly checking in, messaging, and coaching from every possible angle.
A massive thank you to our incredible staff and to you, our parents. Your positivity and sideline cheers created an atmosphere our students will never forget. It was a masterclass in teamwork from pupils, staff, and parents alike. I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved together!"
