ICS Côte d'Azur Participates in Globeducate Poetry Slam
Jennifer Wallace

On Tuesday 21st March, World Poetry Day, ICS Côte d'Azur joined other Globeducate schools around the world in celebrating the day with a poetry slam in the playground.

In the spring sunshine, every class had a chance to stand up and perform a poem either in groups or individually.

We heard poetry performances from KG1 to PY6 in French and English, but there were also some recitals in student's home languages too, such as Chinese and Spanish.

One of the reasons behind World Poetry Day, is to support linguistic diversity through poetic expression and to increase the opportunity for endangered languages to be heard.

Katie, Scarlett and Masha in PY5 shared the following "We found the poetry slam really inspiring and we have been writing poems at home and in class ever since. We choose a theme and then we find inspiration and start writing. We like practising them out loud together."

Thank you to all our students for your confident and poetic performances!
