High Tech and High Energy at the Globeducate Robotics Challenge

As part of their exciting residential trip to Paris, our PY5 students participated in the Annual Globeducate Robotics Challenge.

This year’s competition was bigger than ever, bringing together 130 students from 16 schools both in person and online. Inspired by the spirit of French tennis, this year's theme was Roland Garros, featuring a series of tennis-themed robotics missions that grew increasingly difficult as the day progressed.

Beyond the Code: Building Lifelong Skills

While the competition heavily tests technical programming and engineering, it is equally focused on vital soft skills. Our students had to rely on their collaboration, creativity, and rapid problem-solving under pressure.

Although we didn't make the podium this year, our students performed brilliantly, grew closer as a team, and absolutely loved the experience!

A Proud Moment for Our School

Our resident experts were equally thrilled with how the team handled the pressure of the big stage. Gabrielle, our STEAM Coordinator, highlighted just how much growth happens during these intense challenges:

"It's our fourth year competing and our students are so excited. One thing that really stands out to me is how the students have to find solutions in their teams, the teachers can't help them - which is a big challenge - especially for primary-aged students. But they apply all they've learnt throughout the year during our robotics class and use their observation skills, creativity and logic." — Gabrielle, STEAM Coordinator
