ICS Students Travel to Paris for Annual Globeducate France Robotics Challenge
Jennifer Wallace

A huge congratulations to our PY5 and PY6 students for their participation in the annual Globeducate France Robotics Challenge in Paris. Their hard work, creativity, and teamwork truly shone through, making us incredibly proud. Competing against other Globeducate schools, they demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills and innovative thinking. Whether programming, building, or strategizing, our students showcased their talents and dedication.

Our boys team came third in the primary rankings, and our girls team came fifth. Our students also won a special prize for coding a dancing robot! We are excited to see how this experience will inspire their future endeavours in STEAM and beyond. A big thank you to their teachers Ms Tama and Ms Audrey for preparing them over the last few weeks and accompanying them to Paris.

We asked them to share their thoughts about the competition:

Girl’s team Margot, Emma & Mila: “Going to Paris was really fun and we liked the competition. Although concentrating all day and thinking really hard and problem solving was tiring. Our favourite moment was lunch as the pasta was delicious, and the closing ceremony was also really nice too.”

Boy’s team Mac, Tikhon & Vladimir: "The first and second coding missions in the competition were ok but the third was really hard. We dropped down to 7th place but then climbed back up to third so we are really proud. We agree the lunch was really nice. The best moment of the day was programming our dancing robot and then winning a special prize for it!”

We can't wait for next year!
