WARM WELCOME TO THE ICS TEAM MIGUEL!

My name is Miguel, and I am thrilled to be joining the ICS Côte d'Azur community this year!

I grew up between Portugal and France, which gave me an early appreciation for different cultures and perspectives, something that has shaped who I am both as a person and as a teacher. I am a primary English teacher by background, having worked across core subjects at the École Française Internationale in Bucharest and led an English immersion summer camp in Bergamo, Italy. Throughout those experiences, PE has always been a space I felt truly passionate about, a place to build inclusive projects, introduce students to lesser-known sports, and create something meaningful around movement and play.

To me, PE is so much more than sport. It is a moment of joy, of self-discovery, and of connection. My approach is all about making it fun and accessible for everyone, adapting to each student's relationship with physical activity so that no one is left behind, and everyone finds something to love. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child discover a passion for movement, or grow in confidence through sport.

What excites me most about joining ICS is its multicultural community, a place where different backgrounds, languages and stories come together every day. I am a huge believer in the power of laughter, I speak several languages, and I find it endlessly fulfilling to watch children blossom in ways that go far beyond the classroom.
